What a day our 3rd and 4th class had on Friday in the Connacht Hotel competing for the first time in the First Lego League.
The children had to build and programme robots to do various missions in the robot game. They worked tirelessly on their robot design and game strategy since December and presented it so confidently to the judges. They came up with a wonderful concept for their innovation project to solve a real world problem which the judges were very impressed with.
On the day they took home the Lego trophy for ‘Core Values’ which meant they showed wonderful innovation, fun, inclusion, impact, discovery and teamwork. We are so proud of them all.
A huge thanks to Ms. Gilmartin and Ms. Mannion for all their work with our teams and to Marian (Owen’s Dad) and Medtronic for sponsoring the kits and making it possible for our school to be involved in such a wonderful competition.
