We had a very enjoyable week in 1st and 2nd class celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge and St Patrick's Day. We started the week exploring Irish instruments including the flute, accordion, fiddle, tin whistle and harp. Thank you to Ms Finnerty for bringing in these instrument and showing them to the children. During the week we also had a P.E lesson using our Irish. On Friday we all came to school dressed in green. We had hurling with Ally in the morning. The children are really enjoying the weekly hurling sessions. We drew some leprechauns and completed a word search on St Patrick after reading all about St Patrick. In the afternoon we went to the hall for some singing and dancing. 1st and 2nd sang the song Dilín Ó Deamhas for the rest of the school. We ended the day with a game of cards. Happy St Patrick's Day from everyone in 1st and 2nd Class.
